WORCESTER, Mass.- Holy Cross senior Brett Mulcahy scored 52 seconds into overtime to give the Crusaders a 4-3 win over visiting Bentley on Friday night at the Hart Center.

It was the second straight overtime game to open the season for the Falcons, after they tied their season opener.

Bentley freshman Michael Zuffante (Bloomingdale, Ill.) had scored the tying goal for Bentley at 4:58 of the 3^rd period to knot the game 3-3, his first career goal. His goal came off a redirection off a shot from fellow freshman Charlie Marchand (Calgary, Alberta).

Falcons goalie Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitboa) was stellar in net all night with 42 saves.

Zuffante's goal was the third time the game was tied as the teams traded goals throughout the night. Bentley scored another early power play goal for the second straight game. Senior Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc.) scored on the man-advantage just 1:50 into the contest, with the assists coming from Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) and Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec). Bentley also scored a power play 1:43 into the first period of its first game.

Holy Cross though bounced back and scored twice before the end of the period. Scott Pooley found the back of the net at 9:47, followed by winger Peter Crinella scoring at 17:17.

Once the second period started, Bentley's quick strike ability showed again as defenseman Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba) lit the lamp just 2:07 into the period, with Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn.) on the assist to tie the score 2-2.

Just over six minutes after Jago's goal, Holy Cross took the lead back on a goal from junior Mitch Collett.

After Zuffante's tying goal in the 3^rd, the teams played to a stalemate with Argue making 15 saves in the 3^rd period. He made a big save on a wraparound attempt by Michael Laffin with just seconds remaining.

Bentley (0-1-1) will look to gain a split of this series when it concludes with Saturday night's game at the Hart Center.
