BOSTON, Mass. – The Bentley University hockey team won at Frozen Fenway for the 2^nd straight time, as they defeated Atlantic Hockey leaders Army West Point 3-1 on Thursday night. Captain Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) had two assists, while junior goalie Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba/Nanaimo) outdueled Army's Parker Gahagen with 25 saves. Freshman defenseman Brett Orr (Elkhorn, Manitoba/Portage) put the game away with an empty net goal with 10 seconds remaining, his 1^st career goal.

With the Falcons holding onto a 2-1 lead late in the 3^rd period, which they earned on goals by defenseman Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia/Lone Star) and Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc./Janesville), Army pulled Gahagen with 50 seconds left.

Army had the puck in its offensive zone for most of that time, and Argue turned away a shot by defenseman Ryan Nick. With time running down, Orr was able to gain control of the puck while still in Army's end, and flung a shot the length of the ice that settled into the empty net to seal the win for the Falcons.

It took Bentley just 6:16 into the 1^st period to jump out to a 1-0 lead on Solovyev's 5^th goal of the season, which was assisted by French and Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn./Fairbanks). French fed Solovyev just inside the blue line and on the left face-off circle. The defenseman had space shoot, and uncorked a wrist shot that beat Gahagen top shelf.

Bentley took that 1-0 lead into the locker rooms after the first 20 minutes with a 10-8 edge in shots.

After the break, the Falcons struck again early in the period, with a power play goal from Callin at 4:18. Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc/Sioux City) got the goal started with a pass from the blue line down to Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec/West Kelowna) in the left corner, along the boards. Desbiens then spotted Callin open in front of the net, and fired a centering pass that Callin lifted past Gahagen for a 2-0 lead.

Just past the halfway point of the 2^nd frame, Bentley was hit with two penalties just seven seconds apart, which gave the Black Knights a lengthy 5-on-3 advantage. The Falcon penalty kill held firm for most of it, but with 13 seconds left on the two-man advantage, left wing Zach Evancho ripped a shot past Argue to get Army on the board at 12:20.

That's all Argue would allow though, as he finished the 2^nd period with 10 saves and the 3^rd period with 7.

The victory marked the 2^nd in as many games for Bentley at Frozen Fenway, after they defeated Holy Cross 3-2 during the 2013-14 season.

Now with a 4-6-3 record in Atlantic Hockey games, Bentley will go for the series sweep tomorrow night at the JAR for a 7:05 start.
