Bentley Releases 2016-17 Schedule; Home Opener Oct. 14 vs. Northeastern

Complete 2016-17 Hockey Schedule

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University head hockey coach Ryan Soderquist has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The season gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the University of New Hampshire, and the Falcons are set to open at home on Friday, Oct. 14 against Northeastern.

The 34-game slate features 28 Atlantic Hockey contests and 6 non-conference games; the season-opener at UNH, a home-and-home with Northeastern (Oct. 14 at home, Oct. 15 away), a game at Harvard on Saturday, November 26 and a two game series at the University of Vermont Dec. 30 and 31. It's the 2nd straight year the schedule features a home-and-home with Northeastern after Bentley swept last year's series. UNH is on the schedule for a 2nd straight year, Harvard returns after a one-year absence, and the Catamounts are on the schedule for the first time ever.

The Falcons will play their first Atlantic Hockey games the weekend of Oct. 21 at Air Force in Colorado, while the first Atlantic Hockey home games are the weekend of Oct. 28 vs. RIT. The final series of the first half sees a postseason rematch with Robert Morris visiting the JAR the weekend of Dec. 9.

The 2nd half of the season gets underway with Bentley taking on Vermont for the first time ever before ringing in the new year. The following series will see Army West Point visit the JAR the weekend of Jan. 6 for the only games of the season between the two teams.

Other notable 2nd half series see Air Force visit Bentley the weekend of Feb. 3, a trip to the Steel City to take on Robert Morris again the weekend of Feb. 10, and the final regular season series sees arch rival Holy Cross visit the JAR the weekend of Feb. 24.
