The Matchup: With just three games left in the regular season, the Bentley hockey team begins the homestretch Wednesday night when they visit AIC at the Olympia Ice Center. The action gets underway at 7:05 and can be seen live on EverSport.

Bentley (9-12-4 AHC) will enter the game T-8^th in Atlantic Hockey and holding onto to the final home-ice spot in the first round of the playoffs. They are currently tied with Army West Point with 22 points, but hold the tiebreaker thanks to a tie and win over the Cadets earlier in the season. Those two teams play a home and home series this weekend to close out the regular season. The Falcons are just one point back of Sacred Heart for 7^th and three back of Canisius for 6^th. They hold the tiebreaker over the Pioneers, who play Holy Cross this weekend, but don't over the Griffs, who play Robert Morris this weekend.

Season Series: Wednesday's game will be the 4^th meeting of the season between the Falcons and Yellow Jackets, with Bentley owning two wins and the third game ending in a tie. Bentley won the first game 1-0 on Dec. 1 behind a Gabe Antoni shutout. Fast forward two months and Bentley won the next meeting at the JAR, 6-1 on Jan. 22 as Andrew Gladiuk had a hat trick as part of a five point night, and Max French also had a big game with two goals and two assists.

The next night in Springfield, the game ended in a 5-5 tie after AIC rallied from 5-3 down in the 3^rd period. French scored two more goals, and Kyle Schmidt had three assists.

Bentley now leads the all-time series 29-21-5. They are 4-3-3 in the last 10 games played at the Olympia Ice Center.

Gladiuk Closes In: Gladiuk is closing in on the program record for career goals at the Division I level, held by Brett Gensler with 73. The B.C. native has lit the lamp 71 times in his career after scoring in the opening game of the Canisius series on Feb. 12. That was his 7^th straight game with a goal, one of the longest streaks in the nation this season.

Among active NCAA players, his 71 career goals are 2^nd most, trailing only Harvard's Jimmy Vesey (76). Gladiuk's 143 career points are 3^rd most among active players and 2^nd most in Bentley's Division I history to Gensler's 167.

French Hits 40: French notched his 40^th point of the season on Feb. 12 vs. Canisius, marking just the 8^th time a Bentley player has hit 40 in the program's Division I era. It's been done by six different players. Brett Gensler (11-12, 12-13, 13-14), Dain Prewitt (08-09), Alex Grieve (13-14), Gladiuk (14-15), head coach Ryan Soderquist (99-00) and now French.

French is currently 4^th nationally in points per game (1.54), while Schmidt (1.19) is also in the top-20 nationally in the 17^th position.

High Scoring Trio: Bentley is one of just two teams in the nation to have three players with more than 35 points at this point in the season; French has 40, Schmidt 37 and Gladiuk 35. The only other squad is the Michigan Wolverines.

Schmidt has a 10 game scoring streak going entering play Wednesday night, one of the longest streaks in Atlantic Hockey this season. The streak began on Jan. 15 vs. RIT and has seen him score six goals with 12 assists for 18 points.

Up Next: The Falcons will close out the regular season this weekend with a home and home series with Army West Point. The series opens on Friday at Tate Rink in West Point before concluding Saturday night at the JAR. The two teams played to a 2-2 tie Oct. 31 in West Point before the Falcons rolled to a 6-2 victory one day later at the Barclays Center.
