WATERTOWN, Mass. – Four different players lit the lamp and senior goalie Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield) made 32 saves as the Bentley hockey team scored a 4-2 home victory over Sacred Heart Friday night at the JAR.

Bentley struck first on senior Michael Reardon's (Norwood, Mass./South Shore) first goal of the season, off a faceoff win by Derek Bacon (Calgary, Alberta/Okotoks). Bacon won the draw in the offensive zone to left of SHU goalie Brett Magnus and fed the pass to Reardon, who slid his shot underneath's Magnus' pads to give Bentley a 1-0 lead at 8:37 of the 1^st period.

Shortly after the goal, two quick penalties on the Falcons forced the penalty kill into a 5-on-3 situation for 1:03, which they successfully killed off to preserve the lead.

Towards the end of the frame, Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) struck for the 12^th time this season and 5^th time in three games off his own rebound in front of the net. Line mate Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc./Sioux City) got the play started with a shot on goal that was saved by Magnus.

With Bentley up 2-0 with 2:54 left in the period after Gladiuk's goal, SHU scored just 25 seconds later on center Alec Butcher's goal.

Bentley took a 2-1 lead into the 2^nd period, and added onto it just 2:03 in on junior Will Suter's (Omaha, Neb./Lincoln) goal off a shot in the near slot that he jammed home past Magnus. A little over six minutes later, Sacred Heart made it a one goal game again on freshman Adam Durkee's goal at the 8:33 mark.

The scored stayed 3-2 for the Falcons after two periods with Antoni turning away 23 shots through 40 minutes.

A Sacred Heart penalty just 42 seconds into the third gave Bentley its 3^rd power play of the night, and they cashed in as Schmidt and Gladiuk combined for a pretty goal. Gladiuk gained control of the puck and streaked down the right wing, and played a centering pass to Schmidt who beat Magnus for a 4-2 Bentley lead and Schmidt's 12^th goal of the season.

Sacred Heart pulled Magnus with 2:25 remaining for an extra-skater, and they had a 6-on-4 advantage for the final 1:22 after a Bentley penalty, but the defense did not allow a shot on goal.

The win improves Bentley's Atlantic Hockey record to 8-9-3, while the Pioneers drop to 8-11-2. The Falcons will go for the sweep tomorrow night.
