BOSTON, Mass. – Despite a strong performance and 44 saves by Bentley senior goalie Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield), No. 11 Boston University skated past the Falcons 3-0 Tuesday night in a non-conference game at Agganis Arena.

The Terriers, who were led offensively by right winger Danny O'Regan with one goal and one assist, improve to 7-4-2 on the season. Antoni was named the game's 3^rd star, as the Falcons drop to 5-5-1 overall.

O'Regan gave the hosts an early 1-0 lead as he scored off a breakaway just 3:01 into the proceedings. Left winger Ahti Oksanen got the goal started by shoveling a pass out of the neutral zone over the top of the Bentley defense. O'Regan got on the end of it and beat Antoni to his left to give the Terriers the lead.

Antoni though settled in and shut the door the rest of the period, as Bentley was outshot 15-3 in the first 20 minutes.

Bentley's best chance of the night came just over 10 minutes into the 2^nd period from a two-on-one opportunity with Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) and Andrew McDonald (New Brighton, Minn./Fargo). French won the puck in the offensive zone and deked around a BU defender to hit McDonald streaking in on net, only for his shot to go just wide of Terriers goalie Sean Maguire.

Later in the period, the Terriers converted on their 3^rd power play chance of the night to take a 2-0 lead with 3:37 left in the 2^nd. A cross-ice pass from the left boards by left wing Ryan Cloonan set up a shot for defenseman Doyle Somerby on the right point. Antoni was screened by traffic in front of the net, and that allowed Somerby's slap shot to get by for the goal.

BU went up 3-0 early in the 3^rd as O'Regan setup line mate Jakob Karlsson. On a 3-on-2 break with O'Regan down the middle, he played the puck off to Karlsson on the right wing for a wrist shot goal to the near post.

Shortly after Karlsson's goal, Bentley had a 5-on-3 opportunity for 1:37 after two quick BU penalties, but they came up empty despite several shots on goal.

BU closed out the rest of the period to deal Bentley its first road loss of the season. The Falcons are back in action Saturday night, when they take on another Hockey East team, the University of New Hampshire at 7:00 pm in Durham.
