Gladiuk’s OT Goal Gives Bentley Sweep of RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) scored 46 seconds into overtime as Bentley won at RIT 3-2 in bonus hockey for the second straight night to compete the series sweep at the Polisseni Center.

After Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) won Friday's game for the Falcons with just 31 seconds left in overtime, Gladiuk netted the winner less than a minute into Saturday's extra session. French and Danny Kucerovy (Bethel Park, Pa./Janesville Jets) had the assists as Bentley improves to 3-2-1 in Atlantic Hockey games and is now 5-1-1 in its last seven games.

Bentley trailed 1-0 going into the 2nd period, but got the tying goal from junior winger Tyler Deresky (Flemington, N.J./Amarillo) at 2:10, from freshman Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc./Janesville Jets). The Tigers though took the lead back just past the midway point of the frame on a goal by Mark Golberg.

RIT held that lead deep into the 3rd period and appeared headed for a split of the series, until sophomore Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc./Sioux City) scored a clutch goal with just 5:08 left in regulation, with Callin and defenseman Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitboa/Portage) getting the assists.

That set stage for Gladiuk in OT to send Bentley home with the sweep. The goal was Gladiuk's 5th of the season.

Senior Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield) came up with a huge effort in between the pipes for Bentley, stopping 36 of RIT's 38 shots to earn his 2nd win of the series. He saved 13 shots in the 1st period, and 14 in the 3rd period and overtime combined.

Now 5-3-1 overall, Bentley will return home to host Rensselaer on Friday night at the JAR.
