The Matchup: Coming off a three point weekend vs. Army West Point, the Bentley hockey team has a quick turnaround as they prepare to host Merrimack in a no-conference tilt on Wednesday night at the JAR. The Warriors are the 2^nd Hockey East team to visit this season. Puck drop is at 7:05 and the action can be seen live on EverSport.

The Falcons came away with a win and tie over the weekend for their first Atlantic Hockey points of the season. The results give them a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1) that began with a sweep of Northeastern the weekend of Oct. 16.

Merrimack is ranked 16^th in this week's USCHO Top 20 poll. They enter Wednesday's game with a 3-1-2 overall record after splitting two games over the weekend. They defeated Boston University 4-3 on Friday to extend its unbeaten streak to six to open the season, before falling to UNH 4-2 on Saturday.

Recapping the Weekend: Bentley's Halloween day game in West Point ended in a 2-2 tie. Trailing 2-0 entering the 3^rd period, Max French took over with a pair of goals a little over three minutes apart to tie the score.

On Sunday morning, the Falcons won the first ever game played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, 6-2. Sophomore Kyle Schmidt had two power play goals, while French and Cody Depourcq also had extra-man tallies. Defenseman Tanner Jago had three assists, as did French for a four point game.

That was French's 2^nd career game of at least four points. He had 5 in a game at AIC last season. After combining for six points in the two games, he was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Perfect on the PP: The Falcons went 4-4 on the man-advantage on Sunday, with the goals coming from the aforementioned trio of Schmidt, who had two, and French and DePourcq. At this early point of the season, Bentley is T-5^th nationally in power play percentage at 33.3 (9/27).

Sunday was the first time Bentley scored four power play goals in a game since Oct. 16, 2012 against Sacred Heart, a 7-1 win in that year's season opener. They went 4-8 in total in that contest.

Fast Start: Jago has gotten off to a quick start through his first six college games. He's T-1^st on the team in points (7), all coming on assists. That makes him T-9^th nationally in points per game among rookies (1.17) and T-5^th in ppg among defensemen. His teammate, senior defenseman Matt Blomquist, is among those tied with him. His 7 points have come on 1 goal and 6 assists.

Sophomore goalie Jayson Argue has gotten off to a strong start as well. His .952 save percentage is 9^th nationally, and he's made more total saves and faced more shots than anyone ranked above him.

USCHO Poll: Bentley received votes in the USCHO Division I Top 20 poll for the 3^rd straight week. Merrimack will come into the game ranked 16^th.

Series History: Merrimack won the only previous meeting between the two programs at the Division I level, 3-1 on Nov. 1, 2013, played at Merrimack's Lawler Arena. They played four previous times in the 1980s in Division III.

Bentley vs. Hockey East: Bentley has a 7-8 record all-time in games played against schools played in Hockey East. A 4-2 record against Northeastern, 1-0 vs. Boston Univ., 0-1 vs. Merrimack, 1-1 vs. UMass and 0-5 vs. UMass-Lowell.

After Wednesday night, Bentley has two more games vs. Hockey East teams. Both on the road against BU (Nov. 24) and UNH (Nov. 28).

Up Next: Bentley is off for the weekend after Wednesday's game. They return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 13 to open a series vs. RIT in Rochester, N.Y. It will be Bentley's first games at the Polisseni Center, which opened last season.
