Bentley Releases 2016-17 Schedule; Home Opener Oct. 14 vs. Northeastern

Bentley University head hockey coach Ryan Soderquist has announced his team’s schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The season gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the University of New Hampshire, and the Falcons are set to open at home on Friday, Oct. 14 against Northeastern.
Bentley Places 22 Student-Athletes on Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team

The Bentley hockey team has placed 22 of its student-athletes on the 2015-16 Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team, the conference announced on Wednesday. Four players who recently graduated earned their 4th straight selection to the team.
French Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 At-Large Team

Bentley University hockey player Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna Warriors) has been voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Men’s At-Large team for Division 1.
McFarland & Mancini Named Bentley’s Outstanding Senior Athletes; Gladiuk Recipient of Powers Award

Men’s basketball’s Tyler McFarland (Rockport, Maine/Camden Hills HS) and diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS), both of whom received All-America recognition in their respective sports, were named Bentley University’s Outstanding Senior Athletes Monday night during a Division of Student Affairs awards program in the Dana Center’s Carleton Room. In addition, hockey standout Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo Clippers) was presented with the Edward J. Powers Scholar Athlete Award as Bentley’s premier senior scholar-athlete.
Undermanned Falcons Fall in Game Three to Robert Morris

Undermanned Bentley pushed top-seed Robert Morris to the limit but ultimately ran out of gas as the Colonials won game three 6-3 to win the Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals series and advance on to Rochester next weekend.

Robert Morris stayed alive with a 4-1 victory over Bentley in game two of the Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals Saturday night. Freshman Cody DePourcq (Penticton, B.C./Penticton) had the goal for the Falcons. The deciding game three for a trip to Rochester is Sunday night at 7:05 pm.

Junior Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) scored the go-ahead goal with 5:11 left in the 3rd period as Bentley defeated Robert Morris 4-3 Friday night to take game one in the best of three Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals.

After advancing past Sacred Heart two games to one in the first round last weekend, No. 8 seed Bentley is now set to take on top-seed Robert Morris in the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend out in Pittsburgh in another best of three series. The first two games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday night at 7:05, and game three if necessary will be Sunday night at 7:05 as well. Each game can be seen live on EverSport.

Bentley duo Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) and Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) have been voted to the Atlantic Hockey All-Conference teams as selected by the league’s head coaches. French was named to the first team and Gladiuk the second team.

Army West Point scored six unanswered goals on its way to a 6-2 win over Bentley in Atlantic Hockey action on Friday night at Tate Rink. The Falcons though still control their own destiny for home-ice in the first round of the postseason in Saturday night’s game.
