Gladiuk & Dente Voted to Capital One Academic All-District 1 At-Large Teams by CoSIDA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University hockey player Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) and men's lacrosse player Matt Dente (Reading, Mass./Reading) have been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 At-Large teams for Division I and Division II, respectively, by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The men's at-large program includes student-athletes competing in fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wresting. For Division I, District 1 includes student-athletes from the six New England states and New York, while for Division II, it encompasses the Northeast-10, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Gladiuk is a repeat honoree on the District 1 At-Large team after again excelling on and off the ice. In helping the Falcons to a third place finish in the Atlantic Hockey regular season, he led the team goals (20), assists (22) and points (42). He ranked in the top-10 of the AHC in those three categories, while also ranking in the top-two in both power play goals (7) and power play points (16).

Those numbers saw him named both a first team All-Atlantic Hockey forward and to the New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star team. He reached a career milestone this season with his 100th career point in just his 96th career game.

Off the ice Gladiuk maintained a 3.86 grade point average this year while majoring in corporate finance and accounting. He was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team as both a freshman and sophomore.

Dente led the men's lacrosse team in both goals (21) and points (27) during his senior season, setting career-highs in both. He had four games with at least three goals scored, including a career-high four in a win over Southern New Hampshire on April 7.

Dente also put up big numbers in the classroom with a 3.82 GPA this year while majoring in corporate finance and accounting with a minor in actuarial studies. He was named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team last season.

Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams program since 2011. The Division II and III Academic All-America programs are financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the program.
