Argue Voted to Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University goalie Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba/Nanaimo) was a unanimous pick to the 2014-15 Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie team, as voted on by the conference's head coaches, it was announced Friday.

After missing the first 13 games of the season with an injury, Argue started 17 of the final 21 and ended the regular season with Atlantic Hockey's best save percentage (.936) and lowest goals against average (1.95) in 986 minutes of playing time. Entering this weekend his save percentage is the third best in the nation, and his GAA the ninth best.

He allowed two or fewer goals in 14 of his 17 starts, including a 1-0 shutout of Robert Morris Jan. 10, which finished the regular season in first place.

Argue was twice named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week (Dec. 2, Feb. 24) and was Goalie of the Week once (Dec. 9). He finished the regular season with a 7-5-4 record.

Bentley has earned a bye to the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals after finishing tied for third in the standings with a 14-9-5 conference record. They will host Mercyhurst for a best of three series at Ryan Arena starting March 13.
