Newburyport Daily News: "A new lease on life"

Chris O'Donnell, a sports correspondent for the Newburyport Daily News, recently spoke with Bentley defenseman & UMass-Lowell transfer Billy Eiserman about his experiences with the Falcons. This article appeared in the Feb. 27 edition of the paper and online at www.newburyportnews.com.

NEWBURYPORT — The sophomore jinx can be a cruel thing. Newburyport's Billy Eiserman, unfortunately knows too well. But he is also of this adage: It's not where you have been that defines you; it is where you are going.

Eiserman is in his first year of hockey at Bentley University — his junior season by NCAA standards — and he is having a great time of it. His college hockey career has been all about timing, both bad and good. Lately, more of the latter.

Bentley is in the midst of a terrific season at 16-11-5 overall and 14-7-5 in Atlantic Hockey behind second-place Canisius (14-7-6) and regular season champion Robert Morris (18-4-4). Barring a disaster, the Falcons will earn a first round bye and home ice for the second round of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament, the winner of which moves on to the NCAA Tournament.
