WALTHAM, Mass. – Atlantic Hockey announced Tuesday morning that Bentley senior goalie Blake Dougherty (East Amherst, N.Y./Bay State Breakers) has been named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Co-Goalie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26.

Making his second career start on Saturday night, Dougherty recorded a shutout as the Falcons defeated Rensselaer 4-0 to complete the series sweep of the Engineers, who compete in the ECAC.

Dougherty made 19 saves, highlighted by eight in the third period to preserve the shutout. He also helped force RPI into a 0-4 night on the power play.

He's the second Falcon in as many weeks to be honored by Atlantic Hockey after Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) was named the Co-Player of the Week last week.

Dougherty and the Falcons are back in action on Thursday night when they open a two game set against Penn State of the Big Ten.
