WATERTOWN, Mass. – The Bentley University hockey team completed a sweep of RIT with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Tigers Saturday night in Atlantic Hockey play. Senior Brett Gensler (St. Charles, Mo./Youngstown Phantoms) notched two more goals, and sophomore Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo Clippers) added an insurance goal in the third period.

The Falcons improve to 9-3-2 in Atlantic Hockey play with the win and are now 9-1-2 in their last 12 games. They sweep RIT for the first time ever, who fall to 5-7-1 in AHA play.

Bentley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead for the second straight night, this time with senior Andrew Fitzstephens (Schoolcraft, Mich./Bay State Breakers) scoring just 2:30 in. RIT turned the puck over in its own zone to freshman Tyler Deresky (Flemington, N.J./Amarillo Bulls). Deresky then fed Fitzstephens in front of the net, who banked his shot in past RIT goalie Jordan Ruby for the goal.

Scoring chances were tough to come by the rest of the period for both teams, as the Falcons led 1-0 after 20 minutes. They went 0-2 on the power play in the first, including having their second power play last just 18 seconds due to them taking a penalty.

Bentley spent the first two-plus minutes of the second period successfully killing off three different penalties to maintain its 1-0 lead. They then went up 2-0 at the 5:48 mark on Gensler's 13th goal of the season. The goal was created off a rebound from a shot by Alex Grieve (Calgary, Alberta/Westside Warriors) that was saved by Ruby, and Gensler was on the doorstep to knock in the rebound.

The Falcons had chances to add to their lead towards the end of the period as RIT was called for three penalties, giving them two different 5-on-3 opportunities, but they came up empty both times.

The Tigers got back in the game with a goal from Josh Mitchell at 6:36 of the third period to cut Bentley's lead to 2-1. But on its seventh power play opportunity of the night, Bentley finally put one in as Gladiuk found the back of the net at 12:41 to make the score 3-1, one-timing in a pass from Gensler.

Gensler then scored an empty-net goal, his second of the night and 14^th season, with 1:21 remaining to put the game away.

Senior goalie Branden Komm (Williamsville, N.Y./Northfield Mount Hermon) made 28 saves to earn his 11^th win of the season.
