HANOVER, N.H. – Bentley University and No. 11 Dartmouth College were tied 2-2 after two periods, but goals from Matt Lindblad and Dustin Walsh in the third period sent the Big Green on their way to a 5-2 victory Saturday night in non-conference hockey at Thompson Arena.

Goals for Bentley by freshman Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, British Columbia/Nanaimo Clippers) and junior Jared Rickord (Skokie, Ill./Springfield Jr. Blues) helped them go into the third period tied 2-2. But Lindblad's second of the night at 2:21 put Dartmouth in front, and Walsh's power play goal at 8:02 gave them a comfortable 4-2 lead.

In a matchup of Bentley's tops in the nation power play unit versus Dartmouth's top ranked penalty kill, the Falcons went 0-6. The Big Green went 2-5 on the power play, with Walsh's goal and a late goal by Brandon McNally that made the score 5-2 coming on the man-advantage.

The Falcons fall to 6-7-0 overall on the season, while Dartmouth improves to 6-2-2.

Dartmouth scored the game's first goal from freshman Brad Schierhorn at 6:15. Bentley trailed for most of the first period until Gladiuk leveled the score with just 9.6 seconds left on the clock, with Zach Marginsky (Auburn, N.Y./Syracuse Stars) and Brett Switzer (Calgary, Alberta/Spruce Grove Saints) assisting. The goal was Gladiuk's team-leading ninth of the season.

The Falcons took the lead at 7:20 of the second on Rickord's third goal of the year, as he got behind the Dartmouth defense in the neutral zone and skated in on goalie Cab Morris untouched for a breakaway goal.

Bentley held the lead for around five minutes until the Big Green tied it up at two on Lindblad's first goal of the game. Bentley goalie Branden Komm (Williamsville, N.Y./Northfield Mount Hermon) saved a shot from the right by Jack Barre, but the rebound came right to Lindblad on the far post for the goal.

The Falcons began the third period on the power play with a chance to take the lead, but nothing came of it. Just 30 seconds after Dartmouth's penalty expired, Lindblad scored again to put them in front for good.

Morris made 18 saves to earn the win, while Komm stopped 32 shots for Bentley.

The Falcons are back in action Friday night against Air Force to open a two-game series that will close out the first half of the season. Game time for Friday's game is 7:05 pm.
