WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Seven different players scored and freshman goalie Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield Jr. Blues) made 29 saves to earn the win in his collegiate debut as Bentley University rolled past American International 7-3 Friday night in Atlantic Hockey action.

Bentley (4-4-0, 3-2-0 AHA) potted at least seven goals for the third time this season as they bounced back from last Friday night's loss to Holy Cross. Junior Brett Gensler (St. Charles, Mo./Youngstown Phantoms), who came into the night tied for the lead in Division I in points per game, had three more points to up his season total to 17 on one goal and two assists.

Gensler's linemates, Alex Grieve (Calgary, Alberta/Westside Warriors) and Justin Breton (Fitchburg, Mass./Boston Jr. Bruins), had big nights as well with one goal and two assists each.

Bentley grabbed an early 1-0 lead 2:38 into the game on freshman Derek Bacon's (Calgary, Alberta/Okotoks Oilers) second goal of the season. Senior Brett Hartung (Tallahassee, Fla./Wichita Falls Wildcats) had the puck behind the net and fed Bacon a sharp pass in front, and Bacon one-timed it past goalie Ben Meisner.

AIC tied it up at one on a power play goal from Adam Pleskach at 12:19 of the first, and the score stayed that way heading into the second period.

The Falcons then did their damage with three goals in the period from Grieve, Breton and Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, British Columbia/Nanaimo Clippers).

Grieve's goal to give Bentley a 2-1 lead came at 4:58 of the period. Defenseman Michael Reardon (Norwood, Mass./South Shore Kings) took a shot from the point that Grieve got his stick on and tipped in past Meisner.

Grieve had a hand in the third goal at 12:30 off an AIC turnover in the neutral zone. He had a breakaway off the turnover only to have his shot denied by Meisner, but Breton was there in front of the net to bury the rebound.

AIC got to within 3-2 at 17:16 on a goal by Pleskach, but just 18 seconds later Bentley took the momentum right back as Gladiuk scored off an AIC turnover in its own zone to give his team a two-goal lead back.

The Falcons then put the game away with two goals in the first 8:20 of the third period from defenseman Steve Weinstein (Los  Angeles, Calif./Vernon Vipers) on the power play, and Gensler's sixth of the season off a pass from Grieve to make the score 6-2. Senior Joe Campanelli (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Westminster Prep) scored the Falcons' seventh of the night, and his second of the year, at 10:24.

Bentley returns home for the first time in three weeks Saturday night when they host UConn at Ryan Skating Arena. Face-off is 7:05 pm.
