Three Point Effort by Lewis Leads Robert Morris Past Bentley

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Junior forward Trevor Lewis scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Robert Morris to a 5-1 win over Bentley University in Atlantic Hockey play Saturday night at the Island Sports Center.

The Colonials, who entered the game in a three-way tie for first place, improve to 8-4-2 overall and 7-4-2 in Atlantic Hockey, while the Falcons drop to 5-7-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference.

It was a 3-1 game entering the third period, but goals by sophomore Zach Hervato and senior Nathan Longpre at 5:35 and 11:03 respectively put the game out of reach for the Falcons.

The game was scoreless for most of the first period, until Robert Morris struck twice in a span of 1:22. Senior Scott Kobialko opened the scoring at 16:28, and Lewis lit the lamp for the first time at 17:50 to give the home team a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.

Lewis' second goal of the night at 11:52 of the second put the Falcons down 3-0, until captain Dustin Cloutier's (Berkley, Mich./Mahoning Valley Phantoms) third goal of the season brought the deficit back to two with 4:59 remaining in the frame.

Hervato's goal, set up by Lewis and senior Chris Kushneriuk, made it a three-goal game again.

Junior goaltender Brooks Ostergard made 20 saves to earn his eighth victory of the season.

The Falcons are at Army next Friday for their final game before the semester break.
