Bentley Finishes Rain-Shortened NE10 Golf Championships in 7th Place

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – With Monday's scheduled second round cancelled due to inclement weather, Bentley finished the 2019 Northeast-10 Golf Championships in seventh place.

Playing at the En-Joie Golf Club, the Falcons were seventh after Sunday's first round with a score of 300 after an up-and-down back nine that included 11 birdies and 17 bogeys or worse. The Falcons finished the opening round eight strokes out of the top spot.

Bentley was led by freshman Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS), who shot a one-over 73. He eagled the par-five eighth hole and birdied two of his final three holes.

Next on the scoring list for Bentley was junior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), who'll resume play in a tie for 17th after turning in a 75. His day included two birds.

Senior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) and freshman Santiago Urrutia Ruiz (Guatemala City, Guatemala) both shot a 76, and junior Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./ Homestead HS). Falconer made the turn at two-under but uncharacteristically struggled on the back nine.

Two St. Michael's College players finished at the top of the leaderboard with Matt Johnson shooting a four-under 68 and Brendan Locke following with a two-under 70 Sunday. A total of 48 players participated.

Assumption was declared the team champion with a one-stroke margin of victory over Southern New Hampshire and a two-stroke advantage on Le Moyne.
