Ethier & Simione Tabbed for PING Division II All-East Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior co-captain Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) and sophomore Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), who have led the Bentley University golf team to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Championships, have been selected for the 2019 Division II PING All-East Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

It's the second straight All-Region nod for Ethier and the first for Simione.

The two players have identical team-leading 75.3 stroke averages for the Falcons, who earned their trip to the NCAA Championships with a second-place finish in last weekend's NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional.

Ethier tied for sixth in the Regional tournament with a 77-72-73-222 after placing second of 48 in the team's previous tournament, the Crofton Invitational. That was his third top three performance of the year.

Simione tied for 17th in the NCAA Regional (77-71-79-227) and has had six top-ten finishes this year, including second in the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, the BrownGolf Invitational and the Bentley Newport Classic.

Bentley has taken first in three tournaments this season and has been second twice. Coach Mickey Herron's team will begin play in the NCAA Division II Championships Monday in Daniels, W.V.
