3rd-Place Finish for Bentley in St. Rose Fall Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Led by junior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS), the Bentley University men's golf team finished third in a field of 11 in the St. Rose Fall Shootout, which concluded Saturday in less than ideal conditions at the Pinehaven Country Club. There were high winds all day as well as rain which suspended play for a time.

Bentley, with a score of 308-313-619, finished 13 strokes back of Franklin Pierce, which posted a winning score of 298-308-606. In between the two Northeast-10 teams was Roberts Wesleyan, with a 304-311-615.

Falconer led the Falcons with a 73-76-149, good for a tie for fourth place in a field of 64. Medalist honors went to Hunter Wescott of Dominican College (N.Y.) with a three-over 72-73-145.

Bentley's top four also included sophomore Liam Dwyer (Reading, Mass./Reading HS) and senior co-captains Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) and Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland HS). Dwyer turned in a 78-79-157 in his first collegiate tournament to tie for 22nd place. Simione (78-80-158) and Kulikowski (77-81-158) tied for 27th.

Bentley's penultimate tournament of the fall season is the California Vulcan Invitational in Greenburg, Pa. Oct. 14-15.
