WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) and Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) have been named captains of the 2018-19 Bentley University golf team, coach Mickey Herron announced.

Kulikowski was recognized as a Division II Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America after last season and was also voted to the Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for the second time. Simione was selected for the All-Northeast-10 second team after an outstanding junior year.

Kulikowski finished his junior year with a 77.3 stroke average. He had three top-ten finishes, including fourth in the Ryan Lee Memorial (70-73-143) and fifth in the Saint Rose Fall Shootout (72-74-146).

Simione turned in a 75.5 stroke average during his junior season, sixth best in the NE10 and 16th best in the East. It was an improvement of 2.55 per round over last season and featured a tie for second in the NE10 Championships.

Kulikowski has been consistent throughout his career with his yearly stroke averages ranging from 77.0 to 77.55. Simione's mark has improved annually with last year's norm bettering his sophomore year average by 2.5 strokes per round.

Bentley, the defending Northeast-10 champion and an NCAA regional participant each of the last eight years, opens its season Sunday and Monday with the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational at the Keene Country Club in Keene, N.H.
