WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second straight year, Bentley University's Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) has been selected for the Men's Golf Sport Excellence Award in the Northeast-10 Conference, an honor bestowed upon the conference's premier scholar-athlete in each sport.

Meyers, a Summa Cum Laude graduate who was previously honored as the Men's Golf Player of the Year in the conference, was also voted to the Academic All-Northeast-10 men's golf team for the third straight year. Bentley dominated the Academic All-Conference team in the sport with the five-man squad also including two other Falcons, recent graduate Brett Chatfield (Attleboro/Bishop Feehan HS) and rising senior Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS).

The Sport Excellence Award and Academic All-Conference are two of the latest awards for Meyers with his list of accolades also including the Edward J. Powers Award as Bentley's premier scholar-athlete in the senior class, Google Cloud Academic All-District 1 and first-team Golf Coaches Association of America Division II All-East.

Meyers led the Falcons with a 74.0 stroke average, second best in program history, while lowering his career mark to 76.05, also number two all-time by a Bentley player. Ranked fourth in the East by GolfStat, Meyers earned medalist honors at both the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships and the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational.

Like Meyers, Chatfield received Academic All-Conference recognition for the third straight year. He achieved a 77.2 stroke average with his best tournament finish of his senior season 15th of 70 in the Ryan Lee Memorial back in September.

Kulikowski, an Academic All-Northeast-10 honoree for the second straight year, turned in a 77.3 stroke average this past season. He finished in the top ten three times, including a tie for fourth in the Lee Memorial and a fifth-place showing in the Saint Rose Fall Shootout.

All three also exceeded in the classroom as accountancy majors. Meyers achieved a 3.84 grade point average, Chatfield graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.73 and Kulikowski will enter his final year at 3.71.

Bentley captured the 2017-18 Northeast-10 championship and participated in an eighth straight NCAA regional tournament.
