Meyers & Ethier Tabbed for PING Division II All-Region Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following standout seasons that included two of the three best stroke averages in program history, Bentley University's Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) and Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) have been named to the 2018 PING Division II All-East Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Meyers, a senior, is making his second straight appearance on the All-Region team while Ethier capped off his freshman year by earning the honor. Both excel in the classroom as well on the course, owning grade point averages north of 3.7.

Meyers turned in a 74.0 stroke average, good for number two in Bentley annals, and Ethier was just a tenth-of-a-stroke behind him. Meyers, recently named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), is ranked fourth in the East by Golfstat and Ethier was close behind at number six.

Meyers' season included 57 birdies during 23 round, as well as a below-par average (4.87) on par-five holes. He had two tournament wins (NEIGA Division II Championship and the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational) and tied for 14th in the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional with a 76-73-73-222.

Ethier tied the school record for eagles (2) and totaled 46 birds during his 17 rounds. He finished second in two tournaments (Penmen Fall Invitational, Coaches Invitational Classic) and broke 70 three times during his rookie season.

Coach Mickey Herron's Falcons captured the Northeast-10 Conference championship and finished tenth in the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional
