Meyers Selected for Google Cloud Division II Academic All-District® Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University golfer Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS), who helped the Falcons to the Northeast-10 Conference championship and an eighth straight NCAA Division II East/Atlantic regional tournament, has been chosen for the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District®  1  Men's At-Large team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Meyers will advance to the national ballot for the selection of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® team, which will be announced next month.

District 1 includes student-athletes competing in Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in the sports of lacrosse, swimming, tennis, golf and wrestling, among others. Meyers was the only golfer on the ten-person team.

Ranked fourth in the Division II East Region by Golfstat, Meyers finished the season with a team-leading 74.0 stroke average. He had five top-ten finishes, including victories at both the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Division II Championships and the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational. During the NCAA regional, he tied for 14th place with a 76-73-73-222.

Meyers' resume includes the 2017 Northeast-10 Sport Scholar Excellence Award for Golf, a pair of Academic All-Northeast-10 awards, 2017 GCAA Scholar-Athlete and 2017 PING All-East Region. All those honors are still to be announced for this current year.

In the classroom, Meyers has distinguished himself by earning a 3.83 grade point average while majoring in both accountancy and liberal studies.
