Meyers Helps Bentley to 4th Place At Midpoint of St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational

BERLIN, Md. – Led by senior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS), the Bentley University golf team finished day one of the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational fourth among a dozen teams.

The Falcons, ranked fifth in the latest NCAA Division II East Region rankings, turned in a 302 during the tournament's opening day. Dominican College (N.Y.) tops the leaderboard with a 295, two strokes better than number two Concordia College (N.Y.), six ahead of St. Thomas Aquinas and seven in front of Bentley.

Meyers, one of six who broke par on the 7,001-yard course, posted a one-under 71 and will be tied for fourth when play resumes on Sunday.

Dominican's Hunter Wescott is in alone in first place after firing a four-under 68. Michael Miranda of St. Thomas Aquinas and Saint Rose's Kyle Adams follow, at 69 and 70, respectively.

Also for Bentley, senior Brett Chatfield (Attleboro, Mass./Bishop Feehan HS) turned in a 75 (tie for 16th) and juniors Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) and Chris Simeone (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) each shot a 78 (tie for 31).
