WALTHAM, Mass. – The 2016-17 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference men's golf team was dominated by Bentley University with the Falcons accounting for four of the five honorees, including rising senior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS).

Meyers was selected for the NE10's Sport Excellence Award for Men's Golf as the conference's premier student-athlete in the sport.

Meyers was joined on the Academic All-Conference team by classmate Brett Chatfield (Attleboro/Bishop Feehan HS), recent graduate John Perkins (Middleton/Phillips Andover HS) and rising junior Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS).

Meyers and Chatfield both garnered Academic All-NE10 accolades for the second straight year, and Kulikowski and Perkins were first-time honorees.

All four have distinguished themselves in the classroom with Perkins' 3.94 GPA among the best of any of Bentley's 500+ student-athletes. Meyers and Chatfield  will both enter their senior year with a 3.81 GPA, and Kulikowski owns an impressive 3.72. Perkins majored in economics-finance while the other three are all accountancy majors, with Meyers doubling with a liberal studies major.

Meyers (75.6), Kulikowski (77.5) and Chatfield (78.0) owned Bentley's best stroke averages of the year and Perkins (82.6) was the team captain.

Meyers, a first-team PING All-East Region honoree, was ranked 11^th in the region by Golfstat. His season included wins in the Quechee Division II Challenge, a tie for first in the Robert Trent Jones Individual Shootout at Colgate and a tenth place in the Northeast-10 Championships.

Kulikowski, who joined Meyers on the All-Conference team, was Bentley's top finisher in the NE10's, tying for third place, and Chatfield, the 2015 NE10 runner-up, tied for 11th place.  Perkins finished his career with his best round as a collegian, a 72 to earn medalist honors in the Bentley-hosted Newport Classic.

Bentley qualified for the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Regional for the seventh straight year.
