Meyers Selected to Division II PING All-East Region Team
WALTHAM, Mass. --- Bentley University golfer Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) has been selected for the 2017 Division II PING All-East Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America following a strong junior season.
Meyers, who was previously named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 men's at-large team, led the Falcons with a 75.6 stroke average during 23 rounds of play with a +3.78 versus par. He had six top-ten finishes, including ties for first in both the Quechee Division II Classic (69-73-142) and the Robert Trent Jones Individual Shootout (74-72-146) along with a second in the 18-hole Bentley Newport Classic (73).
In championship play, Meyers finished 10th in the Northeast-10 Championships (77-72-149), tied for 20th in the Division II New Englands (80-79-159) and tied for 40th in the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional (75-79-77-231). His stroke average in those events was exactly 77.
Meyers, who improved on his sophomore year average by 0.9 strokes, had an outstanding spring, averaging 75.3 during his final dozen rounds.
