Bentley A Stroke Off the Pace Following Day 1 of Saint Rose Fall Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – The Bentley University golf team will enter Saturday's second day of the Saint Rose Fall Shootout a stroke off the lead after shooting a 305 during Friday's opening round at the Pinehaven Country Club.

The Falcons, who had a trio of players turn in a three-over 75, trail both The College of Saint Rose and Franklin Pierce University in the team standings. Also in the hunt of the nine-team tournament going into Saturday are Le Moyne College and Dominican College (N.Y.), both four strokes off the pace and three behind the Bentley.

Among the three Bentley players who are tied for fourth is junior Chris Ehl (Reading, Mass./ Reading HS). His  75 was matched by teammates Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wis./Slinger HS) and Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS).

Bentley also received a solid effort from junior Brett Chatfield (Attleboro, Mass./Bishop Feehan HS), who is tied for 11th after a 77.

Saint Rose's Michael Pilkington is at the top of the individual leaderboard with his even-par 72 giving a one-stroke advantage on Franklin Pierce's Sam Myers.

Saturday's action is scheduled to get underway shortly after noon.
