Bentley Finishes Day 1 of Northeast-10 Championships in 4th Place

VALATIE, N.Y. – The Bentley University Falcons finished day 1 of the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championships in fourth place, 11 strokes off the lead. A total of ten teams are participating in the championships, which will resume Monday morning.

Playing at the Olde Kinderhook Golf Club Sunday afternoon, Bentley posted a team score of 301 to trail Le Moyne College (290), Southern New Hampshire University (295) and The College of Saint Rose (297).

Bentley's number one golfer was sophomore Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) with a one-over-par 73. He's tied for seventh following an opening round that included a tournament-leading 15 pars, one birdie and two bogeys.

The Falcons also received a strong showing from junior Brett Chatfield (Attleboro, Mass./ Bishop Feehan HS), who turned in a 74, good for a tie for 12th. He was up-and-down all day with four birdies, four bogeys and one double-bogey.

Also scoring for the Falcons were junior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wis./Slinger HS) and sophomore Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS). Both finished the opening day tied for 22nd with a 77.
