Meyers Named Northeast-10 Men’s Golfer of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) has been selected as the Men's Golfer of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference following his outstanding performance in the recent Quechee Division II Challenge.

Playing at the Quechee Club in Quechee, Vermont, Meyers shared medalist honors with Miguel Siercke of Wilmington University (Dela.). Both finished two under par with the Bentley golfer shooting 69-73-142. His 69 was a collegiate best and the 142 matched his best 36-hole performance. Included were eight birdies during the tournament.

His efforts helped the Falcons finish first in the tournament, beating the top two teams in last year's NCAA Division II East Regional (Southern New Hampshire, St. Thomas Aquinas) in the process.

Meyers, after two tournaments this fall, has a team-best 73.5 stroke average, including a 4.71 average on par-five holes. He leads the team this season with 13 birdies.

Last year, Meyers earned Academic All-Northeast-10 honors after posting the Falcons' second lowest stroke average, 76.5.

Also recognized by the Northeast-10, with selection to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll, was sophomore Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS). He tied for sixth in the Quechee, turning in a 71-75-146.

Bentley will return to action Sunday and Monday when the Northeast-10 Conference Championships are contested at the Old Kinderhook Golf Club in Valatie, N.Y.
