Kulikowski Leads Bentley in First Collegiate Tournament; Falcons Finish 4th

SHOREHAM, N.Y. – Freshman Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) turned in a three-over 145 in his first collegiate debut to lead the Bentley University golf team to a fourth place finish in the Dowling September Shootout, which concluded Saturday at the Tall Grass Golf Club on Long Island.

The Falcons, with a two-day team score of 592, trailed a trio of New York institutions in the final results. St. Thomas Aquinas College ran away with the team championship, finishing with a 15-under 553. Le Moyne College was a distant second at 582, and Concordia College edged the Falcons by four strokes. A total of 11 teams competed.

Kulikowski followed up on his opening round 70 with a 75 for a 36-hole tally of 145. Right behind him in the individual standings was teammate and senior co-captain Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy), who was tied for 12th with a 70-77-147.

Also playing well for the Falcons in his collegiate debut was freshman Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS). He tied for 16th in a field of 57 with a 75-74-149.

The next tournament for Bentley is the Southern New Hampshire Fall Classic at the Quechee Club in Quechee, Vt. Friday and Saturday.
