Bentley Finishes Day 1 of Saint Rose Shootout in 6th Place

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Bentley University finished the first day of the Saint Rose Shootout in sixth place after posting a 320 Friday at the Pinehaven Country Club. The tournament will conclude with second round play Saturday, beginning at 12:15 pm.

Southern New Hampshire University completed Friday's action atop the team leaderboard with a 303, three strokes better than second-place Franklin Pierce University. A total of 12 teams are competing in the tournament.

Bentley's top players during the first 18 were juniors Tommy Ayres (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS) and Matt Freitag (Cheshire, Mass./Hoosac Valley HS), both of whom are tied for 16th following a 78.

Southern New Hampshire teammates Austin Fox and John Clancy shared the day one-lead after each turned in a one-over-par 72.
