Chatfield Honored by Northeast-10 after Impressive Debut

WALTHAM, Mass. – After an impressive debut as a collegian, Bentley University freshman Brett Chatfield (Attleboro/Bishop Feehan HS) has been named the co-Golfer of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference, as well as the NE-10 Rookie of the Week.

Chatfield, in his first career tournament, shared medalist honors in the 36-hole Franklin Pierce Invitational with Southern New Hampshire's Jake Nutter, and also shared Golfer of the Week accolades with the SNHU junior with both shooting identical scores of 72-71-143 over the par-72 Bretwood Course in Keene, N.H. Monday.

Three of Chatfield's teammates were recognized on the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll following their strong performances in the FPU Invitational, including junior Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/ Lincoln Academy), last week's NE-10 Golfer of the Week. Oliver finished fourth at 75-70-145 with his two-under 70 matching the tournament's best 18-hole score and a career-best.

The Weekly Honor Roll also included senior Jon Stoddard (Duxbury/Duxbury HS) and junior Tommy Ayres (Bolton/Lancaster HS), who finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Stoddard turned in a 75-71-146 and Ayres carded a 72-76-148.

The next action for Bentley is the Dowling September Shootout Sunday and Monday at the Tall Grass Golf Course in Shoreham, N.Y.
