BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – With sophomore Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy) leading the way, the Bentley University closed out the regular season by finishing fourth of 14 in the Mike Bello Invitational, which concluded Monday at the Timber Banks Golf Course.

Bentley turned in a second-day 310 to finish the tournament at 625, putting the Falcons behind a trio of central New York institutions. Le Moyne College, the host team, captured team honors with a 305-299-604, with Roberts Wesleyan three strokes back and Daemen College 17 off the pace.

Oliver shot a second-round 79 and finished in a tie for seventh place with a 74-79-153. That was one stroke better than teammate Jon Stoddard (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury HS), who tied for tenth with back-to-back 77s.

The top 20 also included Bentley senior captain Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS). He tied for 19th after rebounding from an opening round 83 to shoot a two-over-par 74.

Medalist honors went to Shane Dobesh of Roberts Wesleyan, who finished with a one-under 143 to prevail by three strokes over Le Moyne's John Clare.

Bentley, number five in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region rankings, will now await the announcement of the NCAA tournament field on Apr. 25.
