PLYMOUTH, Mass. – At the midpoint of the Cape Cod Classic at the Atlantic Golf Club, the host Bentley University Falcons stand second among seven teams with a score of 322. The Falcons will head into Saturday's final round nine strokes back of first-place American International College.

AIC's Austin Ball and Franklin Pierce University's Nick Adjutant both had outstanding days and share the individual lead after 18 holes. Each shot a one-under-par 71, including 33 on the back nine.

Bentley was powered by junior Jon Stoddard (Duxbury/Duxbury HS) and sophomore Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy). Stoddard finished the opening round in third place with a 77 and Oliver's 78 put him in a tie for fourth. The top eight also included Bentley senior Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS), who was tied for eighth with an 80.

Right behind Bentley in the team standings was third-place Franklin Pierce, with a 324.

Saturday's action will get underway at 9:45 am.
