WALTHAM, Mass. – It'll be a battle of 7-2 teams when the Bentley University men's basketball team hosts Southern New Hampshire Tuesday night in its final Dana Center appearance before the new year. Game time is at 7 pm and it will air on the NE10 NOW Digital Network.

Bentley, a perfect 6-0 in the Dana, will be looking to bounce back from a 94-90 loss to Franklin Pierce on Saturday. That contests saw the Falcons outshot 54-48 percent and the opponents take more free throws than coach Jay Lawson's squad for the first time all season.

Southern New Hampshire, coached by former Lawson player and assistant Jack Perri, has won its last three with an 86-74 victory over Queens (N.Y.) on Saturday following road wins at Post and St. Michael's.

In Northeast-10 action, Bentley is 2-1 and Southern New Hampshire 2-2. They rank 1-2 in the conference in field goal percentage with the Falcons at .512 and SNHU at .509.

Both the Falcons and Penmen have four players who are averaging in double figures and shooting over .500 from the field. For Bentley, senior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/ Williston Northampton School), juniors Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon/Thayer Academy) and Pete Blust (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central HS), and sophomore Mason Webb (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness HS) are combining for 60.5 points. Seniors Eamonn Joyce and Shawn Montague, junior Michael Almonacy and freshman Jacari Sanders produce 64.4 points for SNHU.

Hudson, Bentley's newest 1,000-point scorer, amassed 50 points and 15 rebounds in two games last week with 23 in a win at Assumption and 27 against Franklin Pierce. He's the NE10 leader in field goal percentage at .624 and also one of the best in offensive rebounding.

Webb follows at 17.8 with a team-high 22 three-pointers, and Mello-Klein (13.4 PPG, 7.3 APG) leads the conference in three-point accuracy (.577) after making eight of his last ten. Blust is fifth in the NE10 in field goal percentage (.584) while averaging 11.1 points and six rebounds.

Lawson is also receiving over eight points a game from sophomore guard Brian Wright-Kinsey (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooks School) and senior guard Seth Stankiewicz (Reading, Pa./Reading HS).

For SNHU, the 6-10 Joyce leads the team in scoring at 17.8 a game after putting up 21 and 20 in two games last week. Stony Brook transfer Michael Almonacy has been lighting it up from three, making 26 of 49, while scoring 16.8 a game.

Senior forward Shawn Montague matches Almonacy's scoring numbers and is also averaging over nine rebounds a game.

SNHU makes nearly ten three-pointers a game and has scored at least 80 in eight of nine games.

The two teams split the season series last winter with each winning on its home court, Bentley 89-83 and the Penmen 84-79. Hudson had a pair of double-doubles for the Falcons in the two games and Joyce totaled 47, on 17 of 22 shooting, against the Falcons, including 29 in the game his team won.

Following Tuesday's game, Bentley will have two more games before the holidays, Dec. 21 at Felician and Dec. 22 at Bloomfield.
