Team

The Bentley Falcons had a fast start to the 2018-19 season and finished the year with a 19-10 record. It was the 23rd time in the last 24 years that Coach Jay Lawson has led his squad to a winning season.

• Bentley earned a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference championship tournament for the 37th time in the conference's 39-year history.
• Bentley has an all-time winning percentage of .633 in regular season NE10 games, a success rate no other men's basketball program in the conference can match.
• Coach Jay Lawson's team achieved the program's 23rd winning season in the last 24 years.
• The Falcons won 14 of their first 15 games and were ranked as high as tenth nationally in Division II.
• The Falcons have made at least one three-pointer in an NCAA Division II-record 876 consecutive games, a streak that dates back to December 1989.
• An 84-71 victory over Molloy Jan. 5 was the 1,000th in program history.
• Bentley not only broke the school record for free throw percentage, but led all of college basketball with an .817 accuracy mark.
• In addition to free throw percentage, Bentley ranked in the top four in the NE10 in scoring margin (+7.2), three-point percentage (.393), free throws made and attempted (15.0-18.3), rebounds (36.9), rebound margin (+2.9), defensive rebounds (27.6), field goal percentage defense (.431) and fewest fouls committed (13.8).
• Bentley was 16-2 when shooting better overall than its opponents, 16-2 when shooting better from three and 9-1 when finishing with a field goal percentage of .500 or better.
• Bentley overcame a halftime deficit to win four times.
• The Falcons were 18-4 when attempting more free throws than their opponents.
• In 14 games, the opponents got to the free throw line nine times or less.
• As a team, Bentley achieved a 3.21 grade point average during the year. 

33    Zach Gilpin (Sr, F, 6-5, 208, Hampden, Maine, Hampden Academy) 

• Averaged 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 29.0 minutes while starting every game for the second straight season.
• .462 field goal percentage included .391 from three-point range.
• Was recipient of the team's 2018-19 Sean Buzbee Williams Appreciation Award.
• Most productive month was November when he scored 13.2 points per game and shot .596 overall.
• Bentley was 7-3 during the 10 games in which he scored in double figures.
• Had a season-high 20 points Nov. 11 in a 100-73 win against Bloomfield
• Finished career with 871 points, 371 rebounds and 122 three-pointers in 94 career games (67 starts).
• Career averages were 9.3 points and 3.9 rebounds.
• Tenth in program history in both career three-point percentage (.405) and free throw percentage (.827).

 11    Ryan Richmond (Sr, G, 6-1, 195, Toronto, Ont. (Thomson Collegiate/Williston Northampton School) 

• NABC Division II All-America and Google Cloud Division II Academic All-America who finished his career as the number three scorer in Bentley history (2,081 points).
• The Falcons' top scorer for the third straight year with his 23.0 point-per-game average second only to the 23.6 average he posted as a junior in 2017-18.
• Owns three of the five highest single season scoring averages in program history and is the only player in Bentley annals with three career 600-point seasons.
• Was one of only two Division II players nationwide to be both an All-America on the court and an Academic All-America in the classroom.
• Also averaged 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 47 percent overall, 40 percent from three and 89 percent from the line.
• Led the Northeast-10 in scoring and was also tied for second in the East Region and 12th nationally among Division II players.
• Was also 12th in Division II in free throws made (171), 15th in minutes per game (37:27), 23rd in free throw percentage (.891) and 24th in total points (667).
• Was Bentley's Outstanding Male Senior Athlete and a finalist for the Northeast-10 Man of the Year.
• Received the Northeast-10 Sport Excellence Award as the conference's top scholar-athlete in men's basketball.
• Honors also included honorable mention Division II Bulletin All-America, first-team NABC Division II All-East Region, first-team D2CCA All-East Region, first-team All-Northeast-10, first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 and first-team Academic All-Northeast-10.
• Participated in the NABC's Reese's Senior All-Star Game, held in conjunction with the Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind.
• Top 50 Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award.
• 44 points against American International Jan. 16 was the most ever scored by a Bentley player in the Dana Center and was one shy of his own school record.
• Scored at least 20 in 20 of 29 games and had at least 30 five times, including three straight games from Feb. 6-13.
• Played at least 40 minutes seven times, including 45 against Pace Feb. 2.
• Became Bentley's fourth 2,000-point scorer Feb. 16 against Saint Anselm.
• Named the USBWA Division II National Player of the Week Jan. 24.
• Named the NE10 Player of the Week three times (Nov. 19, Jan. 21, Feb. 11) and also made seven appearances on the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.
• Finished career with averages of 19.3 points (second in Bentley history), 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 108 games (84 starts)
• Career totals, in addition to 2,081 points, included 474 rebounds, 305 assists, 710 field goals and 182 three-pointers.
• Ranks in top five in Bentley history in minutes per game, field goals made and attempted, free throws made and attempted, free throw percentage and scoring average. 

14    Chris Hudson (Jr, F, 6-5, 200, Hodgdon, Maine, Williston Northampton School) 

• Third-team All-Northeast-10 honoree who led team in rebounding (8.2) and blocks (1.0), and was third in scoring (14.4), while playing 35.8 minutes a game.
• Also led the team in field goal percentage (.508), offensive rebounds (82) and defensive rebounds (156).
• Was the premier offensive rebounder in the Northeast-10, averaging 2.8 a game, and was also second in the conference in total rebounds (238), fourth in average rebounds and sixth in minutes per game.
• Nine double-doubles including career-high 26 points and 13 rebounds at Southern New Hampshire Dec. 5 and 20 and 14 against Le Moyne Jan. 9.
• Played 40 minutes or more six times.
• Bentley was 7-2 when he scored at least 20, 7-3 when he reached double figures in rebounds
• Was one of three NE10 players with at least 30 steals and 24 blocks.
• Averaged 17 points and made 57 percent of his two-point attempts during road games. Home scoring average was 12.4.
• Was honored as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week Dec. 20 and was also named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll three times.
• In 80 career games (51 starts), has amassed 878 points and 470 rebounds.
• Owns career averages of 11.0 points and 5.9 rebounds, as well as a career field goal percentage of .521. 

13    Nick Murray (Jr, G, 5-10, 150, Littleton, Mass., Littleton HS) 

• Walk-on who saw limited action in three contests, playing a total of four minutes.
• Younger brother of graduate assistant and former Falcon player Chris Murray. 

12    Seth Stankiewicz (Jr, G, 6-0, 175, Reading, Pa., The Hill School) 

• Came off the bench in 28 of 29 games, averaging 2.3 points, 1.0 rebounds and 8.8 minutes.
• Made 12 of 34 three-pointers with two triples five times.
• Bentley was 6-1 when he connected from deep at least once.
• Season-high 12 points and four rebounds Dec. 1 against Saint Michael's.
• Bentley was 9-4 when he made multiple three-pointers and 7-3 when he scored in doubles.
• Among players with at least 50 career 3-pointers, .416 accuracy from downtown is fifth best in program history.
• Has averaged 4.4 points in 74 career games with totals of 323 points and 69 three-pointers. 

34    Peter Blust (So, F, 6-7, 210, Hinsdale, Ill., Hinsdale Central HS, New Hampton Prep) 

• Averaged 13.3 minutes, 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and one block in the season's first four games before a foot injury, suffered against Stonehill, kept him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
• Has three years of eligibility remaining after being granted a medical red-shirt.
• Made seven of his ten field goal attempts, including both his three-pointers.
• Scored career-best 13 points without missing a shot Nov. 11 vs. Bloomfield. Was 5-for-5 overall with a three-pointer and made two free throws. 

24    Colton Lawrence (So, G, 6-3, 200, Myerstown, Pa., ELCO HS, Hill School) 

• Was the recipient of the team's Francis A. Bennett Most Improved Player Award after boosting his scoring average 11 points per game and his field goal accuracy from 34 to 48 percent.
• Started all 29 games and averaged 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 31.1 minutes.
• Shot .482 overall, .408 from three and .680 at the free throw stripe.
• One of only three NE10 players with at least 65 three-pointers and 190 rebounds (Saint Anselm's Tim Guers, Stonehill's Will Moreton)
• Led Falcons in three-pointers and three-point percentage, and was second in scoring and rebounding.
• Scored at least 20 five times, with a high of 26 Feb. 2 vs. Pace. Also had 24 against both Goldey-Beacom (Nov. 10) and Southern New Hampshire (Dec. 5).
• Three double-doubles included 24 points and 11 rebounds in the Nov. 10 season-opener against Goldey-Beacom.
• Bentley was 8-5 during the 13 games that he made at least three three-pointers.
• Named to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll three times.
• Career averages of 10.1 points and 4.8 rebounds with 526 points and 249 rebounds in 52 career games (35 starts). 

23    Jordan Mello-Klein (So, G, 6-1, 178, Sharon, Mass., Thayer Academy) 

• Started all 29 games and averaged 34.1 minutes, 8.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals.
• .443 field goal percentage included .396 from deep (36-91) … also made 33 of 36 free throws (.917).
• Top scoring performance was 18 at Adelphi Jan. 23.
• Bentley was 11-3 when he made multiple three-pointers and had the same record when he scored in double figures.
• Was eighth in the Northeast-10 in assists (106) and steals (34), as well as tenth in assist-turnover ratio (2.0).
• Two-year starter who has 454 points, 272 rebounds, 181 assists and 55 steals in 55 career games (53 starts).
• Career averages of 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals.
• .431 career three-point percentage is third highest in program history (min. 50 made). 

10    Dan Reagan (So, G, 6-2, 170, Avon, Conn., Avon HS, Gunnery School) 

• Saw action in seven games, playing a total of 17 minutes.
• Only points of the season came at NYIT Dec. 19 when he played a career-best five minutes.
• Standout in the classroom who has the team's highest grade point average. 

32    Adria Amabilino Perez (Fr, F, 6-8, 198, Nottinghamshire, England/ Bilborough College/Hotchkiss School) 

• In 12 games off the bench as a freshman, averaged 4.9 minutes, 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds while making 8 of 15 shots overall, three of five from deep and all four of his free throws.
• Scored season-high six points against NYIT Dec. 19 and matched that against New Haven in the Northeast-10 quarterfinals Mar. 3.
• Claimed five rebounds in as many minutes Dec. 1 against St. Michael's.
• Played a career-high 13 minutes at Merrimack Feb. 23. 

21    Mason Webb (Fr, G, 6-4, 190, Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuiness HS/ New Hampton School) 

• Led Falcon non-starters in minutes, scoring and rebounding.
• Came off the bench in every game during his freshman year and averaged 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 16.1 minutes.
• Connected at a 42 percent clip from three (22 of 52) and made 23 of 25 free throws (.920).
• Season-high 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting Jan. 19 vs. New Haven.
• Also scored ten points Jan. 9 against Le Moyne.
• Was ninth in the Northeast-10 in assist/turnover ratio (2.1). 

15    Brian Wright Kinsey (Fr, G, 6-4, 185, Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooks School) 

• Averaged 5.2 minutes, 1.8 points and 0.9 rebounds while coming off the bench 23 times during his freshman year.
• Scored career-high nine points vs. Bloomfield on Nov. 11, surpassing the seven he had the day before against Goldey-Beacom in his first collegiate game.
• Began his collegiate career by making nine of his first ten field goal attempts.
