WALTHAM, Mass. – All-Region senior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate) scored 25 of his 35 points after intermission, powering the Bentley University men's basketball team to an 84-65 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, after sweeping the Skyhawks for the first time since the 2012-13 season, improved to 16-6 overall and 9-6 NE10. Stonehill fell to 11-11 overall and 5-10 conference with the loss its fifth straight.

An 11-0 Stonehill run, including three-balls from freshman guards Josh Mack (Winchester, Va.) and Adam Freese (Stewartstown, Pa.), gave the visitors a 20-13 lead nine minutes into the game.

Bentley dominated the final 11 minutes of the first half, outscoring the Skyhawks 35-13 to go up 15, 48-33. That run began with a 14-3 spurt that included six points apiece from junior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/Williston Northampton) and sophomore guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO).

After a Stonehill interrupted the Falcon run, coach Jay Lawson's squad scored 19 of the next 27 points to finish the first half. Lawrence was the top scorer with 14 points and both Richmond and Hudson followed with ten.

Bentley pushed the lead to 22 in the second half before the Skyhawks used an 18-8 run to draw within 12, 73-61, with 3:37 left. Hudson responded with a three-pointer from the right wing and Richmond returned the Falcon lead to 18 with a three-point play the traditional way.

The number four scorer in Bentley history, Richmond eclipsed the 1,900-point plateau and finished the game with 1,930. After starting the night only one of ten, he shot an even 50 percent, including 9 of 12 after intermission. He buried four of seven from downtown, made all seven of his free throws and also came up with nine rebounds and two steals.

Lawrence finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and a trio of three-balls and Hudson's line included 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and two rejections.

Sophomore guard Owen Close (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led Stonehill with 27 points with his 11 field goals in 19 attempts included five treys.

 Bentley shot slightly better, 47-44 percent, and both teams knocked down 10 triples. The Falcons finished with an eight-rebound advantage (38-30), made only seven turnovers and dominated at the line. Both teams missed only two from the stripe, but the home team attempted 18 to Stonehill's five.

On Saturday, Bentley will be in Worcester for a 3:30 game at Assumption College.
