WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior forward Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J.) scored half of his 20 points in overtime, including just his sixth three-pointer of the season, to lead Pace University to a 76-74 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

The OT victory by Pace, the Setters' first win in the Dana since 2003, spoiled a career-high 26-point performance by Bentley sophomore guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO HS).

Bentley, with its fourth straight loss, slipped to 15-6 overall and 8-6 in the NE10. Meanwhile, Pace improved to 14-8 (8-6 NE10) after notching its fourth victory in its last five games.

After Bentley senior All-Region Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate) knotted the game at 63 with two free throws with 7.8 seconds left in regulation, the Falcons opened a 68-65 lead 82 seconds into the extra session. Junior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/Williston Northampton) scored from inside and Lawrence drained a three-pointer.

The Setters scored the next seven points and opened a 72-68 lead when Wejnert connected from the right wing with 1:45 left.

Bentley got within two or one three times in the final 32 seconds, including 75-74 after Richmond made two free throws with 4.6 seconds left. Pace sophomore guard Austin Gilbertson (Etters, Pa.) made one of two at the line with 3.8 seconds and senior forward Zach Gilpin (Hampden, Maine/ Hampden Academy) claimed the rebound for the Falcons, but Richmond's desperation heave from just inside midcourt was off the mark.

After a first half that ended with the home team down one at 32-31, Bentley used a 19-5 run to go up 11, 52-41, at the midpoint of the second half. Lawrence had nine of the 19 with a three-point play off an inbound pass, a driving lay-up and a four-point play from the left corner.

Pace answered right back with 12 unanswered, taking a 53-52 lead on a lay-up by junior guard Ray Montilus (Union, N.J.).

Bentley tied or made it a one-possession game four times in the final six minutes of the second before Richmond's game-tying free throws.

Lawrence, who also had eight rebounds, made 10 of 17 shots overall and four of eight three-pointers. Richmond followed with 18, Hudson put up a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double and Gilpin followed with 10 points.

Wejnert reached 20 by making six of ten shots overall and seven of nine free throws. The Setters also received 17 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks from senior forward Greg Poleon (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

Pace had the advantage in field goal percentage (.453-.414) and limited the Falcons to six three-pointers in 25 attempts. Second-chance points favored the Falcons, 2011, and Bentley finished with one more rebound, 41-40, after trailing in that category 20-12 at the half.

Bentley's next game is Wednesday at home against Stonehill. That contest will be webcast on NCAA Twitter and NCAA Facebook as part of the NCAA Division II Showcase.
