WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/Williston Northampton) scored 20 points and matched his career-high in rebounds (14) with his sixth double-double powering the Bentley University Falcons to a 66-58 win over Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, ranked 10th in Division II, improved to 14-1 overall and 7-1 NE10 after stretching its current win streak to six games. Le Moyne, playing its first game in three weeks, dropped to 7-5 overall and 4-3 NE10 with the Dolphins falling out of a first-place tie in the conference's Southwest Division.

Bentley, which never trailed in a game that was tied only twice, used an early 10-0 run to take a 15-5 lead after seven minutes. Freshman guard Mason Webb (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness HS) got it started with a triple from the left corner. Hudson followed with a lay-up, sophomore guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO HS) drained a three from the right wing and Webb hit a short turn-around jumper.

Later in the first half, the Falcons extended the lead to a game-high 17, 29-12 with 7:45 on the clock, with eight unanswered. Gilpin and Hudson both connected from deep and Hudson scored an inside basket.

By that juncture, Bentley was shooting a blistering 65 percent, 11 of 17, and was perfect on five attempts from deep.

The Falcons cooled off the rest of the half, making only three of their next 12, but still went to the halftime locker room up 10, 37-27.

Bentley struggled putting the ball in the basket during much of the second half (only 31 percent) but seven unanswered pushed the Falcon advantage to 48-32 with 13:58 left. Lawrence connected on a three, sophomore guard Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon/Thayer Academy) finished a break with a lay-up and senior All-Region guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate) scored on a driving lay-up.

Le Moyne staged a late push with an 11-1 burst, including eight points from junior guard Zay Jennings (Allentown, Pa.), to draw within six, 62-56, with 1:33 to play.

Lawrence quieted the comeback bid by backing in for an inside basket with 1:10 left, and the Falcons went on to claim the victory.

Hudson made only six of 16 shots overall but finished seven of ten at the foul line. He also helped out with three blocked shots.

Lawrence finished with 13 points and seven rebounds, Richmond followed with 12 and five dimes, and Webb scored a career-high 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Richmond boosted his career scoring total to 1,.737, moving past Tim Forbes '06 into fifth on Bentley's all-time scoring list.

Junior guard Ryan Roland (Syracuse, N.Y.) led Le Moyne with 17 points.

Bentley finished with a .397 field goal percentage but limited the Dolphins to only .329 overall and .241 (7-29) from three. Le Moyne used 20 offensive rebounds to outboard the Falcons 45-42, both teams turned the ball over ten times and the Falcons has a 12-5 edge in made free throws.

Bentley returns to action Saturday with a 3:30 game against Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y.
