WALTHAM, Mass. – Four members of the Bentley University men's basketball team, including leading scorer Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate), were named to the NABC Honors Court by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for amassing a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher through the 2017-18 academic year.

In addition to Richmond, a rising senior, Bentley's honors were Nick Burton (Falmouth, Maine/ Falmouth HS), Matt Turkington (Cromwell, Conn./Cromwell HS) and Brandon Wheeler (Stamford, Conn./Trinity Catholic HS). All three received their degrees at Bentley's May Commencement ceremonies.

Coach Jay Lawson's team also received a Team Academic Excellence Award for the fourth time in five years. Those are presented for compiling a team GPA of 3.0 or better for the academic year.

Richmond, an NABC Division II All-Region and first-team All-Northeast-10 honoree, set a single season Bentley scoring record (23.6) and concluded his junior year ranking 20th on the Falcons' all-time scoring list (1,414 points).

Wheeler, a third-year starter, led the Falcons in rebounds for the second straight year, averaging 7.1, and also scored nearly eight points a game.

Turkington came off the bench to average 2.7 points and two rebounds, and Burton saw action in seven contests.

Richmond and Wheeler are both finance majors, Burton majored in marketing and Turkington earned his degree in actuarial science.

Bentley finished the 2017-18 season with a 16-12 overall record.
