Richmond Receives All-Region Honors from NABC & D2CCA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thompson Collegiate) has been selected for first-team 2018 Coaches' Division II All-District honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches following his standout season for the Falcons.

Richmond was also voted to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association second-team All-East Region team by the region's sports information directors.

Richmond, previously recognized with first-team All-Northeast-10 Conference honors, broke the Bentley single season scoring record of 22.8 that Ray Andersen had owned since the 1968-69 campaign. He finished with a 23.6 average, third best in the NE10 and ninth best nationally in Division II.

Richmond, who scored better than 25 a game since January 1, shot 48 percent overall, 38 percent from outside the arc and 81 from the foul line. He also provided the Falcons with 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Richmond, whose three-pointer at Le Moyne in early January gave Bentley an overtime win against the conference champions, scored at least 30 four times, including three times in the season's final five games. He had 39 at Franklin Pierce in the regular season finale, 35 at Saint Anselm in the Northeast-10 semifinals and 30 against St. Michael's.

Richmond finished the year with 1,414 career points, third most ever scored by a Falcons before his senior season.

Bentley concluded Jay Lawson's 27th season at the helm with a 16-12 record, including 12-9 conference.
