Former Bentley University men’s basketball standout Keegan Hyland (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) has been announced as a finalist for a pair of major Northeast-10 Conference awards, NE-10 Man of the Year and NE-10 Outstanding Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The 2015-16 Bentley men's basketball season featured winning the Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division championship and earning an NCAA Division II tournament berth. Tyler McFarland broke the career scoring record and was chosen as an NABC All-America, and both McFarland and Keegan Hyland were selected as CoSIDA Academic All-Americas.

Men’s basketball’s Tyler McFarland (Rockport, Maine/Camden Hills HS) and diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS), both of whom received All-America recognition in their respective sports, were named Bentley University’s Outstanding Senior Athletes Monday night during a Division of Student Affairs awards program in the Dana Center’s Carleton Room. In addition, hockey standout Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo Clippers) was presented with the Edward J. Powers Scholar Athlete Award as Bentley’s premier senior scholar-athlete.

Bentley University senior Academic All-America® Tyler McFarland (Rockport, Maine/Camden Hills HS) became the program’s all-time leading scorer, but saw his tremendous career come to a disappointing end as the Falcons dropped a 78-62 decision to Stonehill College in the first round of the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball East Regional Saturday night at Holy Family University’s Campus Center.

Ten days after registering an 89-84 win over Stonehill College in the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Basketball semifinals, the Bentley University Falcons will renew acquaintances with the Skyhawks on Saturday, this time down in Philadelphia at Holy Family University in the opening round of the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Southern New Hampshire University junior forward Devin Gilligan (Amherst, N.H.) broke a 75-all tie with a straight-away three-pointer with 5:07 left and the Penmen went on to record a closely-contested 90-87 win over Bentley University in the title game of the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Basketball Championships Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.
