Fritsch to be Recognized Saturday for Induction into Northeast-10 Hall of Fame

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley University men's basketball standout Nate Fritsch '08, a 2014 inductee into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame, will be recognized prior to the Falcons' 3:30 pm game with Pace University Saturday afternoon.

Fritsch was part of the two winningest men's basketball teams in program and conference history as he helped the Falcons to records of 32-1 and 34-1 during his final two seasons with the only losses coming in the Elite Eight to Winona State. Bentley reached the national quarterfinals during his junior year (2006-07) and the final four the following season.

During Fritsch's four full seasons, Bentley was exactly 100 games over .500, posting a sparkling 117-17 record, including 81-7 in regular season NE-10 games, the best four-year mark in conference history.  Fritsch and his teammates were a perfect 54-0 against conference opponents during his final two years and set an NCAA Division II record for consecutive regular season wins.

The team's resume during the Fritsch era included four straight Northeast-10 regular season titles and two NE-10 tournament championships.

Fritsch, a native of Durham, N.C. who attended the Hun School (Princeton, N.J.) before his arrival at Bentley in 2003, exceeded 1,400 points, 700 rebounds and 200 assists during his career.  Not only is that a combination no other player in program history has achieved, he's also the only member of the Northeast-10's  50-40-80 club with his career percentages .501 overall, .442 from three and .815 at the line.

Fritsch was Bentley's 2008 Outstanding Male Senior Athlete and a member of the NABC State Farm Division II All-America team that year.
