Bentley Men’s Basketball Ranked 3rd in Preseason NE-10 Northeast Division Poll

WALTHAM, Mass. – With nine of last year's top ten returning, including four double-figure scorers, the Bentley University Falcons were third in the Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division preseason coaches' poll.

Bentley, coming off an 18-11 season, collected a total of 79 points to trail Saint Anselm College and St. Michael's College in the voting. Saint Anselm finished with a 94-92 edge but the Purple Knights had the edge in first-place votes, 8-7.

The Northeast Division poll continued with Southern New Hampshire fourth (64), Franklin Pierce University fifth (54), Merrimack College sixth (35), Stonehill College seventh (30) and Assumption College eighth (28).

On the other side of the conference, Southern Connecticut State received a maximum 14 first place votes to top the Southwest Division voting. New Haven followed with one first and 78 points, and Saint Rose was third with 50, one more than fourth-place Le Moyne.

Bentley coach Jay Lawson will unveil his team this weekend with home exhibition games against St. Mary's (Canada) Friday and St. Francis Xavier (Canada) Saturday. Both will tip at 7 pm.
