Boston Globe West: "Kettl honors Joey Glynn in Rwanda"

Former Bentley men's basketball player Kevin Kettl is over in Rwanda for nearly a year as part of the Shooting Touch program. While there, he's built a basketball court he dedicated to the late Joey Glynn. Boston Globe West sports correspondent Marvin Pave recently caught up with Glynn who shares his reasons why.  This article appeared in the Apr. 20 edition of the Globe North.

Kevin Kettl never took the court at Bentley University with Joey Glynn as a teammate. But he could identify with the former Cardinal Spellman standout, who played one season for the Falcons, his freshman campaign, in 2012-2013.

A few months later, last June, Glynn collapsed and died during a summer league game in Watertown.

"We seemed to have nearly identical roles as the hustler or scrappy player who would do anything necessary to help the team win," said the 6-foot-5 Kettl, a four-year player for the Falcons who started all 27 games his senior season (2011-2012) in the front court.

"And the more I got to watch Joey, the more I became impressed with him, not only as a basketball player, but as a person."
