Tess Anderson led the Bentley field hockey team in scoring last season while also ranking as one of the top point producers in NCAA Division 2.

The former Nashoba Regional star and 2015 Hometeam Player of the Year from Stow believes her experience coaching youngsters in and around her hometown has given her a fresh outlook on the game and played a part in her 2018 breakout.

"It's hard to picture the game when you're constantly on the field and you can't really notice your mistakes," Anderson said, "but when you're able to find the mistakes and really pinpoint them in other people, you realize you do the same things all the time. It really helps with the visualization of the sport. It gave me a different perspective on the sport, and it worked."

Anderson, who finished her high school career as Nashoba's all-time leading scorer, totaled four goals and an assist her first two seasons at Bentley. She played in every game her sophomore year.
