Vogel Named NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman goalie Kayleigh Vogel (Greenland, N.H./ Portsmouth HS) has been named the Division II Defensive Player of the Week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for her play last week.

Vogel was previously cited as the Rookie and Goalie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

In her first career start, Vogel made three saves while helping the Falcons record a 3-0 shutout at Franklin Pierce in a game that was delayed more than an hour by lightning.

A few days later, in a 2-1 win over Assumption College, Vogel was credited with five saves.

She's played in a total of five games, the last three as a starter, and owns a 1.50 goals against average and a 2-1 won-loss record.

Bentley, 10-7, will close out the regular season Saturday afternoon at St. Michael's College.
