SEAFORD, N.Y. – Senior forward Mikayla Ullrich (Montclair, N.J./Montclair HS) scored her first goal of the season off a penalty corner, propelling Bentley University to a 1-0 win over Molloy College in non-conference field hockey action Sunday afternoon at Cedar Creek Park.
It stretched the Falcons' road winning streak to four, dating back to last season, and boosted Bentley to 3-1 overall. Since mid-October last fall, coach Jessica Spencer's team has won six of its last eight.
Ullrich's goal came just 7:26 into the contest, with senior Niki Neidhart (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS) providing the assist.
The shutout belonged to senior Jana Mones (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS), who didn't have to make a save. She faced only five shots and one penalty corner while watching her teammates attempt 19 shots and ten corners.
For Molloy (2-2), senior Tara Byrnes (Huntington, N.Y.) made nine saves.
Bentley will be back in action Friday with a Homecoming Weekend game against Southern Connecticut State (5 pm).
