Simione & Derrickson Gain Postseason Honors for Bentley Field Hockey

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Sam Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) and senior Caitlin Derrickson (Wilmington/Central Catholic HS), two defenders on the Bentley University field hockey team, have received postseason accolades for their efforts during the 2017 season.

Simione was voted to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team. She appeared in 15 games, with one start, and was credited with three defensive saves.

Derrickson was tabbed as an alternate for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Senior Game, which will be held at Bellarmine University on Saturday, Nov. 18. She started every game for the third straight season and matched Simione's three defensive saves.

After a slow start, Bentley won six of its final ten contests and finished the season at 6-11 overall.
